Ryzen AM5 ; 7000

great job!
i used capframeX because in afterburner i can't display every cpu spec (like temp, power and clock) even if i set "CPU.dll on" in the monitor page.

here AB bench with same settings, starting at the end of red lights, 2 run(1 of 10 sec and 1 of 30 sec):
31-10-2022, 21:23:18 acs.exe benchmark completed, 1936 frames rendered in 10.094 s Average framerate : 191.7 FPS
Minimum framerate : 165.2 FPS
Maximum framerate : 215.4 FPS
1% low framerate : 144.5 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 134.6 FPS

31-10-2022, 21:17:08 acs.exe benchmark completed, 7113 frames rendered in 31.391 s
Average framerate : 226.5 FPS
Minimum framerate : 171.6 FPS
Maximum framerate : 270.5 FPS
1% low framerate : 150.3 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 135.2 FPS

tomorrow i can try to run ACC e Pcars2 in windowed mode at 1080p or 720p testing that way if you want to collect more data.
Thanks man!
0.1% lows higher than my average. :cry::roflmao:

That's massively more fps than my 10600k! Gonna by very interesting to see the 5800x3D in comparison!
We know that one scales insanely good in ACC but not sure about AC.

I don't have pcars2 but feel free to test it! Maybe Pattikins can do a test for comparison.

ACC would be interesting too! Maybe use high to epic settings but then reduce the resolution until your gpu load drops below 90% into the CPU bottleneck?

Hardware Unboxed is using a dry daylight session at medium settings with a normal grid, where the ryzen 7000 show great results.
PurePC.pl is using epic settings in rain and night with max opponents, where the Intels seem to perform quite a lot better...

Would be cool to see something like 24 AI cars, high to epic settings but at lowest resolution to not run into the graphics card bottleneck.

it's really hard to test ACC using a 2070 super, even at 720p i'm gpu limited with EPIC preset.
that's nurb, full grid, clear, default pov/fov, no hands and wheel to show settings (refreshed caprframe overlay stats just before hitting the start race button):

here the AB 10 sec and 30 sec, bench start when AI cars move (but is gpu limited...):

Minimum framerate : 117.0 FPS
Maximum framerate : 172.2 FPS
1% low framerate : 108.6 FPS

to me it's hard to play in such a small window even at ultra slow pace, and impossible to do it into the rain.

here 24 AI cars MID settings at 720p - that's ok, seems w/o gpu bottleneck:

Awesome!
I'll try to do the same when I get home!
Btw you're saying you're using 720p and epic preset?
If you can be bothered, you could either set dlss to ultra performance or disable all anti aliasing and put the resolution scale to 50% to give the gpu more headroom?

How many opponents were visible? I'm not sure if that's part of the epic preset or stays identical no matter the preset...

And a last question:
Are the videos while doing the bench too? It shouldn't lower your fps with 8 cores / 16 threads and using nvenc on the gpu but I'm not 100% sure.

DLSS ultra performance on 720p doesn't work properly, i get a noisy image and some strange results.
here an example of the "artifacts mode"

video and bench are different session:
during the video i was using caprframeX to show info/specs and obs/nvenc to record the clip;
during the bench i was only run the game with afterburner.

visible cars changes with preset, 10 for LOW, 16 for MEDIUM, 32 for HIGH, ALL for EPIC, every setting changes according the preset.

i'll try an EPIC 720 with resolution scale to 50%

similar testing in Project cars 2, 720p max settings (motion blur off, pp filtering off):

and then AB bench, 10 sec and 30 sec:

it's still gpu bound, but i think i can't run a lower resolution (don't know if the game runs properly if i can setup a custom resolution + NIS).

_____
if you want i can test rf2 and automobilista1, atm not installed on my system but i own both games.

How long did you let it record? The fps go up, the further away the ai cars are.
230 fps avg
160 fps 1% low quantile

Are quite similar to the 7700x!

I made a silly error recording/capturing the fps by doing it from a chase camera angle (not the cockpit), so I should've removed the attachment. Nevertheless, the first two results were @ 1080p and the last two @ 1440p, but with the leaderboard bar off (f9) - the massive performance hit was nearly enough for me to go back to Intel, thankfully I spotted it in time before buying a shiny new 13th gen cpu :laugh:.

I repeated the test multiple times, but using the same [56] cars and from the cockpit. Here are the results of my last 3 runs (out of six), with each run (CapFrameX)* roughly 30 seconds:
lemans lmp cockpit 56 cars 2022-11-02_08-39-26.jpg

above @ 1440p.

From a casual glance @ the replays between the 7700X & 5800X3D, the later seems to be slightly quicker as the lights go out, but as the race progresses the former takes the lead in fps.

*I had to hit F11 to start the CapFrameX capture, but it was also started the vitual mirror in AC... grrrr

I'll try & capture Project Cars 2 (played a total of 17 hour) over the next few days.

Thanks a lot! Very interesting!
I guess for AC, we can say that the CPUs are pretty much identical!
Would be very interesting to see ACC with the epic preset and full Nürburgring grid in clear weather!

Do you have acc?

Pcars2 will have "enough fps" :D

I do own a copy of ACC, but due to the fact that I only play racing sims in VR, my time with it has been very limited - not enough gpu grunt :(. A quick google search also suggests that there are enough ACC tests knocking about, including benchmarks between the 5800X3D vs 7700X*, to rank the cpus without having to do any further 'home brew' tests. Besides, I'm running my PC memory below it's rated speed /timings, so it's not the ideal system to compare with the 7700X.

Agreed, Project Cars 2 does have 'enough fps'. I've been unable to test F1 22 (bought for VR) as it won't recognise my wheel, but it does recognise my x-box pad, unlike NFS HP remastered that doesn't detect either :mad: - so, unfortunately, I've uninstalled F1 22 along with the other EA :poop: racing titles.

Yeah the issue is that they diverge massively. There are only 2 good tests. One from "Hardware Unboxed"/Techspot and one from purepc.pl.
One used medium preset, which isn't nice to drive with honestly..
And the other uses the most hardcore scenario possible.

And they both use a replay!
The video you linked has even higher fps numbers with 182 and 211 fps.
Yet a lot of people struggle to maintain 90-120 fps with any CPU while doing actual racing.
Wrath's numbers land right in that ballpark with the 1% lows having a little bit of headroom to be perfectly smooth.
Which is why it would be very interesting to see your results with our settings in that comparison :)

The medium preset results in:
5800X3D = 198 fps
7700X = 175 fps
12600k = 141 fps
13600k = 172 fps

The hardcore test results in:
5800X3D = 100 fps
7700X = 73,5 fps
12600k = 80,5 fps
13600k = 84,5 fps

Wrath85_ita got 123 fps, which exactly in the middle of the two tests, which is why I'm interesting in this "normal clubracing settings with high/very high graphics settings".

I do own a copy of ACC, but due to the fact that I only play racing sims in VR, my time with it has been very limited - not enough gpu grunt :(.
Understandable.. I could send you the config files that you'd only need to throw into the documents folder and hit start after a quick check.
If you could be bothered, that would be quite interesting as there aren't many tests that include my "old" CPU.

I have 7700x/3080ti. I can now run rf2 on very high settings with a 40 car grid. Tested day and night and rain at full. Sebring, nburg combined, silverstone. No issues. I’m on windows 11 and that Reddit post about killing a running holographic file really made a difference. I have tried some clocking on the 7700x but so far default is working brilliantly. Acc I have done some testing, need to stay at high preset and then I turn foliage down and sharpness up. No dlss or fsr required. This is all on the Reverb g2 so mega pixels.
Ac for drifting. Online and off. High settings in cm and using sol, 90 fps locked. No issues

Just gonna quote myself from the "Ryzen for simracing thread" :)
The runs were done with max. number of AI opponents, all visible.
Finally ready to race again :)
I only have the boxed cooler of a 5600 for now while waiting for some #6-32 screws to arrive to mount my Thermalright Macho.
So I've limited the power to 50W for now, which is why the results are a bit "underwhelming".
I'm very happy already though!

After some time with ryzen master I have uninstalled it and decided to learn how to tweak the bios and stability test myself. So far I have undervolted, reduced the 7700x to max temp of 85 degrees. I have pbo and a negative across all cores at -30. I will eventually move to per core but results seem positive atm after a bios update the x670e is much quicker to boot. Still 90fps on rf2 on the g2. I test with 39ai but the other day I had 90 with 53 cars online in a lfm race. That was a surprise as I thought it would be a slide show.

@RasmusP im noticing a cpu hit ie performance in game when using sim hub. Rf2 is single core, could I perhaps dedicate a core to sim hub? Or have I got cores all wrong lol, and would this mess up non single core sims?
