Resolution and OpenXR?

Hi guys,

Finally I was brave enough to try that "OpenXR" thing :)
Well, I had to download a .dll (wanted to try per game) that windows program (from the Microsoft store) and the OpenXR toolbox.
I tried with AC and mostly Automobilist 2.
In that Windows program, I can see the resolution, well, recommended resolution, on the second tab of 2188 x 2188.
Having a Lenovo Explorer, using 1440 x 1440 that should say 2880 x 1440 (or 2880 too) I have no clue where the program gets that.

Well, in the toolbox, you can overrule the resolution. If not, it says "default" (or something like that, sorry, on laptop now) and I presume it is taking the 2188 then?

However; it does look good, so one could say it is better than the resolution I used in Steam VR (around 2600) and that, I don't get.
Setting the resolution to the same as in Steam VR, that 2600, the GPU usage is higher than in Steam.
As Open XR should be better and less hard on the GPU, so there must be something off, or I am just missing something here, right? I'm pretty sure it is the last option ;)

What am I missing here guys?
I read the manuals where I could find them, like the one here,
but not much about a resolution.
