F1 2010 Do second hand DVD versions (non Steam) still work?

Can anyone confirm, if I buy a secondhand PC DVD version of F1 2010, will it install and work ok, or is the activation code a one time only thing, the same as Steam?

(I know about the Game For Windows Live issues, and I can deal with them, but I just need to know if a used code will be accepted).

why don't you download the files from internet instead of buy the discs? It's worked on windows 11
