Important: Please pay special attention to Racedepartment's Golden Rule: If you hit another driver and disadvantage him, we expect you stop and let the other driver regain his position on you. If this costs you many places (eg first few laps) then consider this a penalty for your driving infringement. Doing this shows respect to your fellow drivers and will encourage drivers to be more careful. Please use some care when letting the other driver regain position, do not immediately stop your car on the driving line where it can cause further accidents. Not following this rule will result in your membership of the racing club being terminated at once!

I had a lot of fun, especially since I had only just returned home from my week away and didn't expect to be able to race this event. Of course no practice time but that didn't matter. I'd even forgotten how to do pitstops and had to go and read my own tutorial before I joined, :rotfl:.

It was always going to be a busy race with so many of these little cars on a very tight track, and considering many drivers were new to GTL, so I came prepared with lots of patience, it's a pity some others didn't. :disapointed:

I found the lapping cars and letting others pass was very confusing, since we didn't get clear blue flags. With all the chat going on and people complaining or asking to be let past, I was never sure who was involved, so each time I kept pulling aside and letting people past, but many times I was letting the next placed driver through, or even some who were a lap down on occasions. All very confusing in the end.

Qualy went ok for me, not sure where I started but somewhere around the middle. Got a terrible start, and managed to get boxed in at turn 1 behind someone who was almost stopped on the apex, so I dropped to the tail, about P18 ish. Made a few mistakes early including one bad spin, but slowly worked forward. Passing was rather tricky though, as many drivers were using many different lines in the turns. I hope I was patient, but I think I had a few bumps when passing others occasionally, sorry if I did.
I started with lots of fuel and planned to pit very late and not change tyres. This was working well until I pitted in about lap 45. I was in P5 when I went in, but forgot to un-check the tyre and damage option, so the pitstop ended up being veeeery long. Came out about P10 ish, and finished P8.

All in all, good fun, and glad I made it to this event. Great to see such a good turn out, thanks all who made it. Huge thanks to Stuart for his great skins, it really brightened up these great little cars. :worship:

That was fun. I deliberately set my expectations low and just took this as a fun event. I only started practicing today so I was extremely happy with my PB of 50.5.

Started 14th ish or there abouts. Made it nice an clean through T1 and then got turned around through the chicane. Fell all the way to the back and then had fun trying to get through the field. Had some interesting battles :) then went out with suspension damage.

Thanks to all.

Hope to have some more GTL fun in future.

For me, that was good fun despite my two big cock-up's during the race.

Qualified in 7th and had a clean start. Going fine until around lap 5 when Bram started to try overtaking me. I pushed too hard with a tyre on a curb and spun out, coming back on track down in 18th. I then spent the next 45 laps climbing back up the field and having a good time to myself.

I saw some complaints (what happened to no chat during race?) about back markers and slower drivers but from my car, I really had no complaints. Sure, a few held me up for a lap or so but they all eventually gave way after some pressure and realising when someone is faster.

Anyway, after the pit stops had played out around lap 30 I was back up to around 8th place. Then with 15 laps to go I was up to 6th and close behind Henrik Horvath. The highlight of my race then played out as I tried to get around him. We were lapping the same times and I just couldn't get around despite trying everything including using back markers and following through the race leader - Henrik covered the line every time. Great driving mate, made my race.

Then my second f**k up as one lap from the end I ran out of petrol. I just managed to roll into the pits and tried to do a splash and dash but overlooked stopping the pit crew repairing my car! So finishing my race in the pits.

Thanks for that event , i take a lot of fun but the start was not good for me.

I'm the number 8 blue and red

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Jerome that was me in the BIC,sorry about that mate. My G25 shifter came off in my hand (see post above) and it took me totally by surprise. Hope it didn't impede your race too much.

BTW that screen pic is excellent. Keep it for one of the competitions, it's makes me smile big time. You look like the General Lee out of "The Dukes of Hazzard" :lee: YEEEEEHHHAAAAA :laugh2::laugh2::highfive:

Big thanks to RD for setting this up and especially to Stuart for the skinpack.

Hi all,

Had some good fun yesterday. Sorry for incident in the hairpin (Mark W. left afterwards. I think he hit the wall to hard when he noticed me facing the wrong direction, sorry Mark) Another driver left also but I can't recall his name. My most humble apologies to all drivers involved. I spun due to late braking, due to looking in rearview-mirror :(
Hopefully I wasn't to difficult being a driving chicane, I think (& hope) I gave enough space to everyone.

Can someone upload the server replays, please? (Warren?) Mine are complete useless as when I select a driver, the car becomes static/'lags'.

Thanks to everyone for this fun event, & especially for the 'Stu-ART'* (*respectfully stolen from Bram :))
