WRC Generations has been delayed

The last WRC title under Nacon's umbrella will be delayed. It will be a short amount of time, from mid October to November 3rd and the reason is to gather all different editions in just one release date, avoiding splitting the audience and potential issues.

This way, console editions, which were planned initially for October 14th will have an a couple of weeks attention to polish possible bugs or other hickups.

This change was decided due to community feedback at Gamescom and recent esports events. A later release on PC was often questioned by vocal WRC fans and this new release strategy is the way to make it clear for everybody. This is what Kylotonn stated with this announcement.

WRC Generations will have two editions: Deluxe and Regular with a difference of 10 dollar/euro, starting from 39,99 dollar/euro. Deluxe edition has some interesting content consisting on:
  • The WRC Generations base game
  • Sébastien Loeb's Citroën C4 WRC
  • Additional livery for Romain Dumas' Porsche 911 GT3 RS RGT
  • Bonus items to enhance the livery editor
  • A Career Starter Pack with experienced crew member cards for Career mode
  • Three months of free access to WRC+, the official streaming platform of the FIA World Rally Championship
On PC and consoles you can enjoy Marcus Grönholm's iconic Peugeot 206 WRC from 2002 if you purchase the game in the first two weeks after the release date on PC and making a preorder on consoles. After that the car will cost 4,99 dollar/euro.

Who knows, maybe knowing that it's their last one, will motivate them to do a half decent job. Although, with that crappy engine, there's not much more they can do. They're only delaying the inevitable. Another failure.

While I'd agree and I think it's great that developers can improve the experience, if they or their publisher are willing, as someone outside the sphere of FPS gaming I only know of the Division for having a bad launch so it does still have an impact especially on initial uptake.
While you may refine it down the line it does seem potentially worthwhile to make sure the launch version isn't going to hurt your reputation.
Of course, this would naturally be the ideal scenario that games come out in a polished state. I think Division 2 showed that at least in this aspect Massive learned their lesson. The game was very polished and had basically no real bugs.
