rFactor 2 | Q1 Content Drop to Include Long Beach GP Circuit

The first release for rFactor 2's Q1 content drop has come in. The Long Beach GP Circuit will make its way to the simulation this February.

And the layout used will be the current IndyCar version. IndyCar has been racing on the circuit since 2009. However, the circuit has had a long history in North American motorsports.

A similar layout of the track was used in 1975 for a Formula 5000 race, while in the following years, Formula 1 visited the premises. From 1984 until 2008 CART used the circuit until the merger in 2009.

A different variant of the circuit has also been used in 2015 and 2016 to host Formula E races. Even though rFactor 2 has (or had) a partnership with Formula E, it doesn't seem like this variant will be included here.

What you will be able to find, however, is a tight street circuit suited for racing of all kinds.

Once it comes out, it will be interesting to see how it fares in comparison to the version that Automobilista 2 has out already.

Until that day we can only wait and see.

Long Beach GP Circuit will arrive on rFactor 2 on the 21st of February.

Not on topic as well but does Rfactor 2 support head tracking ? I can`t get it to work .
There are plenty of topics about Head Tracking over at the S387 forum, I have read many people use head tracking so at least it works. You might want to try over there for some support from other users. Here is one such thread.
Opentrack with rF2

My favorite city circuit (in 2 other SIMs) and one I fortunately live within 30 minutes of. However, at the moment I remain in the camp of not buying more RF2 content. When I fire it up I love it but that’s the issue for me, I don’t.

Smoothtrack (the phone app) works in RF2 in conjunction with Opentrack so I assume other Opentrack based setups work fine.

If I remember correctly it didn't even require any messing with settings in RF2, just worked. I disabled pitch and set look left and right to the roll axis rather than yaw as I was using it more for "look to apex". If you have left-right set to the yaw axis and need look to the side at a display or button box I found it a bit off putting so leaning worked better for me.

I've got a wireless Delanclip with the PS3 camera which I use for sim flying but not tried it in RF2 but I assume that would also be fine as it runs through Opentrack

Vid below has someone using Smooth track on a bunch of Sims including RF2

I suspect another BTCC car, perhaps a BTCC track???? Something with a Hybrid system(Wouldn't the new Ferrari be nice? ((either of them the 296 or the 499!!)) )
Maybe Oulton, my local track growing up. When I was older my friend worked as a marshal, thge job came with a free house - The Lodge on Lodge Corner. We saw a lot of BTCC and BSB for a few years

This is the weirdest reason not to buy content. It probably means: "Im American I only do iracing and thats enough" :)
Not even close. I don’t find it “weird” to not buy something I don’t use at the moment. It’s more a matter of not having time to play the many sims I enjoy. Since when do Americans only do iRacing?……..I do however have respect for any and all opinions, that’s my America. Appreciate the comment though, maybe I will give it a go

2. ACC does not have Long Beach. I am not familiar with the mod you are referring to, but if anything it could be Forza Motorsport 7.
He was talking about ACC rip for Mount Panorama, not Long Beach. ACC has it and it has been converted to rF2 and the quality is very good.

Does that mean you can't support it ?
I barely drive other sims but I buy their content including DLC to support the industry.
We all know S397 needs it more then the rest.

It is saddest thing for me in sim racing history the way rF ( yes it got pillared by the EA F1 crowd) and rF2 were savaged.
After decades, all they brought the industry, it was nothing but hateful spite that brought ISI down. I will never be able to reconcile that.

On a bright note all they have said and done rF2 is still here, alive and kicking.
That must really rub them up the wrong way. :D

The problem with F1 street circuits - is the F1 cars!
Too damn big and long that a 'street' isn't quite big enough for them :D
yeah when you look at f1 cars for example from 1990 to 2000 they look like nervous beasts on track, they are basically karts. Current cars look so planted and smooth, like they are hovering almost :) there is no real ferocity in the way they look when being driven on the limit unlike the cars of the time i just mentioned. To be quite honest, to me F1 died after the 2008 season visually.
