The free update is live today, 7th May 2024, for PC players.

A free update for Assetto Corsa Competizione has arrived that includes the current specification Ford Mustang GT3.

The new car has been entered into multiple GT-racing disciplines this year. The model is participating in the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe (and Endurance Cup) thanks to Proton Competition, pertinent to the official simulation of that championship – ACC.

Elsewhere the same team is running a pair of Mustangs in the FIA World Endurance Championship, with a third entered for next month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. The manufacturer-backed works team competes in IMSA, with two cars running in its SportsCar Championship.

The model’s world debut was at the 24 Hours of Daytona in January.

It is based upon the road-going S650 generation pony car, co-developed with Multimatic and a raucous 5.4-litre V8 revised for racing by the Cumbrian M-Sport outfit. The distinctive gargle can be heard clearly in the teaser trailer.

Today’s (7th May 2024) platform update adds the car to the simulation for free, provided you are a PC user.

There’s no word yet if the ‘Stang will appear on PlayStation and Xbox consoles just yet – although it is worth noting that every car and track seen on PC has arrived at some point.

It’s also not yet confirmed if this is the final content for Competizione, with Assetto Corsa Evo set for launch later this year.

It follows the release of a paid DLC pack which included the much-vaunted Nürburgring Nordschleife in April, releasing for consoles last week.

Let us know if you’ve driven the new Mustang in Assetto Corsa Competizione in the comments below, or on X: @OverTake_gg.

In skeptical about how this will perform. Between Imola and Long Beach, the Mustang hasn't had a great year so far.

So I took a half welllll 3/4 day ;) haha But Dear lord yes... I jumped on Silverstone w/ CoachDave Setups and just had a freaking blast. Soo fast in straight line and the brakes are honestly surprising really good. I am not looking forward to the eventual nerf with added weight. I'm sure it'll happen i was dusting Mercs and Astons on the straights of Silverstone. Might of been AI settings though to, but when I was able to pull them in on the straights I had a huge smile I won't lie. Slow speed though.. So scary. Probably a skill issue though.

If this was the '68 Mustang GT in highland green being pursued by the '68 Dodge Charger R/T 440 in black, all within BeamNG then I'd be uncontainable.

Alas it's not, but props to Kunos for the free car.

I totally hear you mate, the blue and white is brilliant and very much a trademark colour for them, but i personally really like black and gold. My mustang is black paint, black wheels, i am tempted in the future to have a set of dull gold wheels, i think it really pings. If i had a spare 65K i would get the Dark Horse and have two Stangs on the driveway :)
having a black mustang in real life certainly gives you one hell of a point! blue-grey kia venga here, lol!

it will never look sexy, but my wife's wheelchair probably fits better than in the Mustang ;)

Now all we need is the M2 GT4
You mean the new M4 GT4 (Evo?).
And Lotus and Toyota and Vantage GT4 Evo and of course Ford GT4. And of course Vantage GT3 Evo.

EDIT: Artura GT4! How could have I forgotten this one ;) I'm sure I forgot about something else as well :D

Honestly I wouldn't count on any of those to happen. This was probably the last content for ACC ever. Unless SRO forces them with some contractual obligations. Or throws some money to keep their Esports races more on par with the real ones. But again, wouldn't count on any of those.

Thank you Kunos: this is another proof they are not only interested in profits but first of all real sim racing fans. I have purchased all the DLCs except the Nurburgring one, because I was not interested (?!), but from now I am going to purchase literally everything Kunos will release.

How is it "clearly not free"? It's a free part of the base game, not part of a DLC pack.
I see it now you have to change the series in order to see it... I didn't even know there was a sub menu there :) LOL...
