Fanatec Launches Second F1 Direct Drive Bundle

Following the recent extension of a licencing deal, here comes a ClubSport DD and F1 wheel package.

The Fanatec ClubSport DD F1 Esports V2 is a long-winded name for another new Formula 1 sim racing equipment bundle.

It combines three key items:
  • ClubSport DD wheel base
  • QR2 Pro Wheel-Side quick release
  • ClubSport Steering Wheel F1 Esports V2
The ClubSport DD was launched last year and offers 12Nm of constant direct drive torque, compatible with PCs. The QR2 system is integrated, and it has the FullForce protocol, should any game developers update platforms for the low-latency detail effects.

The F1-branded wheel, however, is a mainstay of the lineup. The 270mm (diameter) unit includes Alcantara grips, rev and flag LEDs, magnetic gearshift paddles, an LED read-out and 11 buttons. There’s also one 7-way ‘FunkySwitch’.

The wheel base can be used with an Xbox provided an Xbox-compatible wheel is placed upon it, which this specific F1 wheel is not. No pedals are in the bundle, either.

It follows the launch of the ClubSport Racing Wheel F1 bundle in March, which included the PC and PlayStation-compatible 15Nm DD Extreme with an updated ClubSport Formula wheel.

This is also part of Fanatec and Formula 1’s extended licencing agreement, which was renewed recently as a ‘multi-year’ partnership.

The ClubSport DD F1 Esports V2 is available now, currently in stock at the time of publication and sold at €899.95.

It comes in the midst of a battle for power at the German peripheral manufacturer, the results of which are not yet known.

@Badwheels, don't think there are any new products here, just a discount if you buy the existing DD base and F1 eSports wheel together. In other words, a non-story. With a typo.
Typo? What typo? :sneaky:
(Oh and that g on the end of your substitution looks a bit redundant, no? :p )

This bundle is decent enough, in terms of price to whats delivered. Fanatec needs to do more of this!

But could we get more about the power struggle at Fanatec?

What is this all about? I haven't been paying attention.

With all the instability and fuss around Fanatec at the moment I would think twice about purchasing anything from them, because if they end up folding only god knows how and to whom reclaim the money they took from you for a product that they never sent.

I seen this. Trauma Team racing seems to be giving a blow, by blow update on the happenings. He even uploaded about Jackermeier's upgraded offer to prevent going with the STArug process...

I wish him luck. It would be a shame to see Fanatec dissolved thanks to a hostile takeover, and sell off scheme.

It is best to be cautious about their current predicament. That's for sure!

Why do I feel like Fanatec is just trying to piss people off, by releasing new products when they haven't dealt with the issues that exist currently ?
Trying to burry bad/most recent news (all the issues) with new recent news (new products) in hopes of bringing back brand recognition with new players.

- Personally, I wanted their stuff (few months back) but as a beginner wasn't ready to dump 4-digit into "pro"-level stuff. Now I'm glad I didn't with all the nightmare fuel you read about them, products and support.

-I'll let the other brands catch up which from what I've been reading theirs been a huge jump.

With all that said, the first and this paragraph directly in response to yours, I wouldn't touch their stuff until they do right by existing owners and prove they aren't just a ship it and forget it company.

I've said this (possibly even on the thread earlier) on a variety of forum threads - I've never encountered any issues with them, reliability, customer service, delivery times...I don't know if I'm just this super lucky guy when it comes to them but they've be on the money, all the time. I'm a huge Fanatec supporter, so it's so alien to me to read others comments and stories I just can't relate that back to the company I've dealt with.

It's like anything, some have good while others have bad experiences. Personally I'm not willing to risk that for a quad-digit setup based on the horror so tires all over forums and reddit.

Same here. Always good feedbak and issues solved quickly. Many years ago I've sent back an GT3 RS V2 in warranty. Wheel on base got replaced and sent back in 2 weeks. And I'm from far east of Europe.
The order for CSL DD was sent in a little over one week. Of course I have ordered it when was "on stock". And the same for an add-on wheel.
To be honest, I think the percentage of bad experiences it is the same for all producers.

Definitely. I think the negative experiences and reviewers will always be the vocal majority. I think those that have the positive reviews think, "yep, well that was great - what I expected to happen". And then you don't really tend to leave a (positive) review. Whereas those who have had a bad time vent their spleen over the matter to anyone willing to listen - which obviously they are entitled to.
