iRacing is set to release another game for consoles when a second official World of Outlaws title arrives later this year.

World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 is once again a dirt oval racing release, building upon its 2022 predecessor. The progenitor also witnessed a 2023 season DLC pack, whereas for the 2024 season, it’s time for a separate new release.

The latest game will build upon the foundations created by Monster Games - the studio was purchased by iRacing in 2021 – that mixed its previous Unity-based platform with iRacing input for driving dynamics and AI.

This time around the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, Late Model Series, Super DIRTcar Series, Midget Series, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and American Sprint Car Series will be represented.

There will be a training mode with 300-race-winner Donny Schatz, revisions to the sprawling (and in 2022, engrossing) career mode, the 2024 season roster and additional tracks (the previous edition didn’t quite feature a complete line-up) with further specifics expected closer to launch.

‘Visual upgrades’ are promised, including a remade interface, and track grip that evolves through an event providing affirmation that the driving experience is set to be upgraded too.

The original WoO Dirt Racing provided an accessible and moreish experience on console with a controller. While wheel peripherals were supported, it was positioned to be entertaining with a gamepad first and foremost. The top-class sprint cars were still absolutely mental...

“The original World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing was a huge success, and we can’t wait to take the franchise to another level with our newest release,” said iRacing’s Richard Garcia, former President and owner of Monster Games.

“Our team has been working extensively to make an even more fun and realistic game based on the 2024 season, and we know World of Outlaws fans will love getting back to ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ when it releases in September!”

World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing 24 will be released on 17th September for ‘PlayStation and Xbox’, presumably for old and current generations although not yet confirmed.

There is no word on a Nintendo Switch variant as with the original. A ‘Gold Edition’ will launch one week earlier, the complete contents of which are also expected later.

I thought iRacing buying Monster Games was a good piece of news but cutting it from its PC audience is just absurd. IRacing would not lose any customers, both games target different audiences. For my dirt oval needs I'll keep on playing TS's All American Racing, SRX the Game and Dirt mods for old sims.

I wrote an email to the WoO devs to ask them about a possible PC version for the new game and i received this response.
