FlatOut Racing got off to a brilliant start to the Black Cup as former DHR racer Mikko Korkiakoski won for his new team after starting from pole. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit brought its usuall changing weather. It was not an easy win and it all could have ended in the very first turn. RPM's Peter Duivelaar missed his braking point and hit the finn in the rear, sending them both off track. They rejoined outside top five and had to fight their way back up the order. Duivelaar managed to clinch the final podium spot.

1SPA_spotlight.pngTheir team mates Bryan Stark (FOR) and Marcin Skrzypczak(RPM) took over at the front of the pack after that start incident. But the latter would suffer a difficult race as he hit the wall hard early on and then never got his speed up again due to damage. He had more offs and numerous pit stops which left him at the bottom end of the results. Stark however finished 4th to bring a great overall result to FlatOut.

Another driver to fight up there was Torrent Motorsports Rickard Hellsten, despite starting way down in 14th. He was a bit out of sync with his pitstops and was leading every now and then. But in the end, he couldn't do anything about Korkiakoski who exited the last pitstop 5 seconds ahead of him. Hugo Hekkenberg rounded up the top five for rookies Flying Dutchman Racing. The teams other driver, Yuri Braham, finished his race in Eau Rouge's tyre barrier. He was not alone though to make a visit there. Gubbklubben's Göran Johansson also had an off there but he could continue despite som damage and finish in a fine 11th.

Antonio Cambria, driving for Corse Online which is also a rookie team, finished 6th after a solid race. The Black Rebels and its driver Ben Buitendijk finished 7th with Gubbklubben's Gugge Hultman in 8th bringing a fine result to the Swedish newcomers. Second COR driver of the day was Fortunato Fiorito and he finished 9th, ahead of Simon Melluish (TOM) in 10th.
