There is a lot of information on RBR/RSRBR available here, and it may be a bit difficult to find the information you need. I hope this post, containing some of the more common problems, will be of some help. It will be updated as time goes by.

If you notice an error, or have a suggestion/solution, send me a PM please.

How do I join the rally club?
Please refer to this post, it contains everything you need to know to join.

Game doesn't work/game crashes
If you are using Windows Vista or 7, make sure you didn't install the game in Program Files.
If that's not the issue, check that you have installed all updates.
And if that doesn't solve your problem, post it, and someone will try to help.
If all else fails, try reinstalling everything, it has been known to work.

Pacenotes are in French
After installing RSRBR, the default language for the profile Mulligatawny is French. To change that, launch the regular game (without RSRBR, or go to Play Alone, and start RBR SSE), choose the profile Mulligatawny, go to Options -> Pacenotes, and change the flag to the one you want.

Wheel and game settings aren't being saved
Same as with French pacenotes. You need to save your settings under the profile Mulligatawny, in the regular game (without RSRBR, or go to Play Alone, and start RBR SSE).

How to save and watch replays with RSRBR2011
When using RSRBR2011, you can save replays for later viewing. When you finish a Stage using Play Alone or On-Line (Public Session), you will be given an option to Save Replay in the Menu list before returning to RSCenter. Just give the replay a name and save it, but make sure you take a note of any car, weather, track surface options you used for the Stage run.

To view the replay, you need to launch RBR using the "Launch Richard Burns Rally SSE" button.
Before launching, make sure that you have the car, weather, Stage, track surface options set to the same settings used in the Replay. If not, the replay may not run, or will show wrong weather.

After launching RBR, select the MULLIGATAWNY profile, scroll down to Driver Profile, select Load Replay, load your Replay and watch your car in action.

Using CamHack for better driving views

Graphics adjustments
Any resolution and aspect ratio (no stretching of the image) is supported by installing FixUp 1.7 (included with RSRBR)

Set the resolution you want in RichardBurnsRally.ini:
XRes=2560
YRes=1440
Fullscreen=false

And use these settings in FixUp.ini:
fullscreenWindow=1
fixAspectRatio=1
fixVSync=1
vSyncActive=1
centerMenu=1

Fixing the aspect ratio (no stretching of the image) with CamHack (superseded by FixUp above):
Run CamHack.exe once. Then open config.ini in your RBR install folder. You need to change the FOVY parameter to suit your resolution.
FOVY is determined by: (4*YRES)/(3*XRES)

For example, to get a 1920x1080 resolution with the correct aspect ratio, you would do the following:
Set the resolution in RichardBurnsRally.ini:
XRES=1920
YRES=1080

Set the FOVY in config.ini:
FOVX=1
FOVY=0.75

Window mode
Richard Burns Rally doesn't allow alt+tabbing, so if any window pops up from the background, the game will be minimized to desktop, and you won't be able to go back.
The solution is to switch the game to window mode. Provided you have the FixUp plugin installed, simply edit these two lines:

In RichardBurnsRally.ini:
Fullscreen=false

In FixUp.ini:
fullscreenWindow=1

HDR plugin
Download and unzip these files to your install folder.

Start the game, and turn it on by pressing Shift+F12

Clock Synchronization to RSCenter
Some people have reported problems with synchronizing their PC clock to the RSCenter clock for On-Line Rallys. This has mainly been reported for drivers in USA (or those who are in "GMT minus" zones).
Please refer to this topic for a work around.

This issue is also a problem for New Zealand drivers during DST periods. They require a setting of GMT +13 hrs, but RSRBR2011 only goes to GMT +12. NZ drivers may need to use the same work around.

So here is my best attempt to offer advice.
1. Make sure to adjust your clock and test it prior to the Rally start time.
2. Set your PC clock to the server time (but make it a few (15-30 seconds or more) ahead of the Server time.
3. Change your RSCenter Settings - GMT/UTC to +2hrs. That is because the Server is currently GMT+2 (but that will change to GMT+1 when daylight saving time ends in Europe, which is very soon ).
4. Then, when you are in Public Sessions, do the clock Synchronization process. Hopefully it synchronizes your clock to the Server clock. If it still gives the error message, move your own PC clock forward another 15-30 seconds.

Can't join a Public Session after the Session has started

Aaron DeMarre said:
There are 2 types of public session, in the one with cumulative damage you cannot join midway thru, you have to join for SS1. The regular public session can be joined at any stage in the rally.

Can't Connect to the Server in RSCenter
If you are using a different browser to IE, your IE browser may not allow connection.
Try this:
Open Internet Explorer go to Tools / Internet Options / Connection / LAN Settings and tick the Automatically detect settings button.

Have you checked Rallyesim for your problem?

Here at RD, we try to help solve people's problems as best we can, but the main RSRBR program is designed by Rallyesim. They understand the problems far better, so always check their website to see if they have a solution.
