The question of who the fastest drivers are in the GT5 community is soon to be answered! There's no opposition and no excuses here. It's just you and your machine versus the track.

The time trials will be open to all RaceDepartment members, both licensed and unlicensed. The only requirement to take part is that you own a copy of GT5 and abide by the specific restrictions imposed by the TT. Events will run on a variety of tracks but will make use of GT5's borrow feature to ensure that everyone uses the exact same car with the exact same upgrades. The cars will be supplied by yours truly.

The prize given to the winner will vary but may include items such as cars, helmets, suits and paints, or the choice of car/track for a Club racing event. And of course, you'll win the respect of your fellow drivers. :)

Above you can see a little hint of the car and track that will be used for the first TT event. Stay tuned!

Important Additional Information

- This is the final GT5 TT that will be run.

- This event is only open to Licensed Members.

- You must remember to save a replay of both of your laps.

- These cars have every available upgrade fitted already, so there is no way to cheat.

- If you fail to use the template when posting your times then you will not be added to the leaderboard.

Too bad the TT have to come to an end. This was the only time I played GT5. Oh well, it'll collect dust until they fix the problem I guess. Thanks for all your hard work Ross.

I'm still clueless on this supposed exploit though... I certainly wasn't using it - look at my times. ;)

Hi guys not active on this board(been over at the F1 2011 board in a championship) but do lurk every so often to see whats happening. forgive me if im wrong but in this event you have to supply a vid to prove your times so wouldnt any expoit be exposed in that so you event could still run fairly with exploiters reported and banned from RD

My initial run in these - a staggering time that will be near impossible not to beat. :p

McLaren Lap: 2:02.536
Ferrari Lap: 2:05.014
Total Time: 4:07.550

Btw, the Enzo understeers like crazy without any tweaks. The McLaren seems to be the car to beat.

Update

As this is the very last event there will be an additional prize on offer. The driver that finishes 1st in this special TT will earn themselves a completely unique forum title! It will be prominently displayed next to your avatar in every post you make, letting everyone know who is the champion of the GT5 Time Trials!

Due to this addition the event will be extended by one week, finishing at noon on the 12th of February. Good luck! :)

nice .

Ive done Practice with my own cars but need a new friend to help me post a time :D

And on a side note, both cars are a blast to drive, although I did first drive the McLaren with Sports Softs ... which is weird cause remember selecting the RH tyres after selecting the track.... but yes that was a very interesting little few laps, wheel spin in 4th gear was really fun.
