EA Sports WRC Enabling Mods on EA WRC

Hello, all. I cannot find a post if there is one already. I bought the game through the EA app. Whenever I attempt to launch the game with mods, I’m stopped dead in my tracks with a notice that files may be corrupted. Is there a way around this or should I have bought the game through Steam?
